If you have not recently downloaded the Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 Service Pack 1 (for Windows 98 and Windows ME), you may want to do so before proceeding.
It's a good idea to do so in general for overall security purposes and a more reliable "surfing" experience on the Internet.
If you haven't done so, however, you may run into the issue of multiple pop-up warnings stating: "This page contains both secure and non-secure items. Do you want to display the nonsecure items?"
This is a fault with the earlier version of Internet Explorer (anything before version 6.0.2800) and has nothing to do with the security level of our site.
When you see the small lock-box icon on the page where you will be entering your credit card information, and the "https" rather than "http" at the beginning of the URL for that page, you'll know that your information is secure and will be encrypted for your protection before being transmitted over the Internet.
You can check your version of Internet Explorer by choosing "Help" at the top of the page and then clicking on "About Internet Explorer." If it reads 6.0.2800 or higher, you can disregard this information and close this window.
To cut to the chase, here's how to get that update (You may want to print this page for the instructions):
Go to the Microsoft Windows Update Page, wait for a moment, and then click on "Scan for Updates" when that appears. After a moment, the screen will return with available updates for your computer.
Along with any available security updates, you should choose Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 Service Pack 1 (for Windows 98 and Windows ME) from the "Critical Updates and Service Packs" section in the left column.
Follow the directions for installing that, reboot your computer if asked to, and then return to our site to subscribe.
