QUICK TAKE:
Comedy: Three average men conspire to kill their three evil bosses.
PLOT:
Nick (JASON BATEMAN), Dale (CHARLIE DAY), and Kurt (JASON SUDEIKIS) are three average working Joes who hate their respective evil bosses. Nick has been angling for a promotion for eight years at the corporation he's been working for, but is crushed when his boss, Dave Harken (KEVIN SPACEY), gives it to himself. Dale is a dental assistant who is sexually harassed on a daily basis by his nymphomaniac boss, Julia (JENNIFER ANISTON), who seeks to seduce him even though he is engaged to the good-hearted Stacy (LINDSAY SLOANE). Kurt, meanwhile, is a middle manager at a chemicals company whose beloved boss, Jack Pellit (DONALD SUTHERLAND), dies, leaving his profane, cocaine-addicted son, Bobby (COLIN FARRELL), in charge.

Mired in a recession where the job prospects are few and far between, the three former high-school friends decide to hire a hitman to kill their three employers. They end up paying $5,000 to a guy named Dean Jones (JAMIE FOXX), who rather than serve as their own private assassin instead agrees to be their "murder consultant." He suggests that in order to avoid suspicion, they should each kill each other's bosses.

This leads to a series of misadventures in which the three stake out each of the bosses' homes to learn their secrets and weaknesses. When one of the bosses is indeed murdered (but not by Nick, Dale, or Kurt), the clues point to the hapless trio.

WILL KIDS WANT TO SEE IT?
Older teens may be attracted to the film's raunchier elements, and fans of those in the cast will likely be interested as well.
WHY THE MPAA RATED IT: R
For crude and sexual content, pervasive language and some drug material.
