QUICK TAKE:
Comedy: A small group of inept deputies from Reno must patrol the entire city of Miami when a terrorist plot quarantines the rest of the visiting police and the local squad inside the convention center.
PLOT:
It's time for the American Police Convention in Miami, so Reno cop Lt. Jim Dangle (THOMAS LENNON) assembles his team of misfit deputies for the trip. There's his partner Travis Junior (ROBERT BEN GARANT), as well as Jonesy (CEDRIC YARBROUGH) and veteran James Garcia (CARLOS ALAZRAQUI). When not hitting on Dangle, socially awkward Trudy Wiegal (KERRY KENNEY-SILVER) tries to sound hip while around "sista" Raineesha Williams (NIECY NASH) who's sure that Cherisha Kimball (MARY BIRDSONG) is a lesbian, but no one thinks that about the buxom Clementine Johnson (WENDI McLENDON-COVEY).

When they arrive in Miami, they realize they weren't invited, a development that turns out in their favor since drug lord Ethan (PAUL RUDD) has concocted a bio-terror scheme that now has all of the local and visiting cops quarantined in the convention center. With Jeff Spoder (PATTON OSWALT) serving as acting mayor and Captain Rogers (IAN ROBERTS) of Homeland Security barking out the orders, Dangle and his team realize they're the only law left in the land. From that point on, they must not only deal with the crisis at the convention center, but also the city's everyday police needs.

WILL KIDS WANT TO SEE IT?
If they're fans of the Comedy Central series, that's a definite yes.
WHY THE MPAA RATED IT: R
For sexual content, nudity, crude humor, language and drug use.
CAST AS ROLE MODELS:
Despite and/or because of everything being played for goofy comedy, it's doubtful many parents would consider the characters here (despite most being law enforcement officers) as good role models (due to the language, sexual material, inanity and more).

ALCOHOL OR DRUG USE
  • All of the following is played for goofiness and laughs.
  • Clementine finds a joint on a suspect and then puts it up into her own hair (presumably for later use).
  • Travis says that Reno is just like Mayberry except that everyone's on crystal meth and there's prostitution.
  • Travis returns to his motel, seemingly intoxicated. When he goes to help a young woman, she zaps him with a shocking device before fleeing into her room.
  • Raineesha carries a bottle of liquor, while Cherisha has a six-pack of beer with some other women.
  • Travis drops a shot of liquor into what looks like Pepto Bismol.
  • Clementine shows up, intoxicated, and shows a tattoo of a man's face on the top of her breast.
  • A woman with Ethan snorts cocaine.
  • A man talks of being coated in some sort of liquor and lube and he states, "I'm on f*cking crack."
  • We see a bottle of champagne in a bucket on Ethan's boat, as well as a container of cocaine. A woman on the boat has some of the champagne.
  • People drink at a large party.
  • An undercover agent snorts more cocaine, and we later see her dead from an overdose.
  • Ethan talks of bad coke sales in another part of the country where the buyers are more into acid and mushrooms.
  • BLOOD/GORE
  • All of the following is played for goofiness and laughs.
  • We see Garcia urinating (with his back to the camera).
  • We see some of the male cops urinating in the desert, while Trudy squats down in some scrub brushes and announces that she's "pooping."
  • We see Trudy with a very bad sunburn on her back.
  • Clementine shows up, intoxicated, and shows a tattoo of a man's face on the top of her breast. She says it's the man who's been making "sweet dirty love to me all night" and the term "making love" is used again. There's then talk of getting her some cranberry juice since it's yeast infection time.
  • A lone SWAT team member holds a grenade while trying to motivate the Reno squad. He ends up dropping the pin and grenade, scrambles after both, and then there's an off-screen explosion (we see blood spray out onto the pavement).
  • Trudy talks about pulling her one-piece bathing suit aside to urinate, adding they she thinks she dribbled some on herself.
  • While being scrubbed down by a hazmat crew, Raineesha lets out a fart and the others react to the smell.
  • The cops find a dead and beached whale and thus try to push it back into the water. As they do so, Travis ends up falling through a soft spot in the whale's side. He's covered in goo when he comes out. Moments later, explosives blow up the whale, with all sorts of bloody and meaty pieces then raining down onto the cops.
  • A woman projectile vomits (a lot, and repeatedly) on Travis.
  • A gay man complains that a bus smells of farts and thus calls it the fart-mobile.
  • Dangle and Travis examine what they believe to be a bong, demonstrating how it's used, including putting its various pieces in their mouth. The device's owner then says one end goes in the anus and one attachment is for extracting fecal matter, adding that he's a proctologist.
  • DISRESPECTFUL/BAD ATTITUDE
  • All of the following is played for goofiness and laughs.
  • Dangle wants to join the Boulder police force, but its captain tells him he's at the wrong bar (referring to Dangle appearing to be gay).
  • A motel clerk wonders if the eight cops need just one bed and then repeatedly refers to the "suck fest" he believes they're having. When one of the women squats down to get something off the ground, that man positions himself so that his clothed crotch is near her head.
  • Trudy refers to their motel as the kind of place for old-fashioned raping or murder.
  • Raineesha repeatedly thinks and/or infers that Cherisha is a lesbian (which seems accurate as portrayed by the film), but the latter says she isn't.
  • Captain Rogers has a bad attitude toward everyone.
  • Clementine visits a tattoo parlor to try to find out the identity of the man's face tattooed on her breast. The man behind the counter then manhandles her clothed breasts while examining the tattoo (we see cleavage and the top of that one breast) and then puts his face down into her cleavage. When the real owner then comes out, we learn that this guy is just the plumber who took advantage of the situation.
  • Some viewers may be offended by a stereotypical portrayal of an effeminate gay man.
  • We see that Jeff is in cahoots with Ethan, a drug dealer who has his thugs kidnap and torture or kill people. He's also responsible for the bio-terror threat that has quarantined all of the other police.
  • Talking to other cops about his team, Dangle says they're "the dumbest group of people who aren't legally retarded." He then leaves them to join the force in another city, but later returns due to the other city's zero tolerance policy (presumably about gay people).
  • FRIGHTENING SCENES
  • It's possible something listed under "Violence" might be unsettling or disturbing to anyone who's ultra sensitive to any of that subject mater, but everything is played for goofiness and laughs.
  • The cops come across a gator in a murky swimming pool. An intoxicated man with a beer then jumps the fence, gets in the water, and proceeds to whack the gator (acting as if he's an expert). He then announces the gator is dead, but another suddenly grabs him on the head and pulls him under (the cops flee in terror).
  • GUNS/WEAPONS
  • Machine guns/Handguns/Helicopter missiles/Grenade: Carried and/or used to threaten, wound or kill others and/or cause property damage (but played for comedy). See "Violence" for details.
  • In a dream sequence, there's talk of a nuke in Reno.
  • IMITATIVE BEHAVIOR
  • All of the following is played for goofiness and laughs.
  • Phrases: "F*ck you," "What the f*ck?" "F*cking suck fest," "Sick f*ck," "Snake the f*cking toilet," "I'm on f*cking crack," "F*ck-head," "Would you just give me a pity f*ck?" "Freeze you f*cking little monkey," "F*cking amazing," "Can I f*cking finish?" "So f*cking sweet," Bullsh*t," "Holy sh*t," "Oh sh*t," "Light this piece of sh*t up," "Why was your hand on my d*ck?" "You can get back to your suck fest," "That's a tight t*t tat," "Fag day" (said by a gay man), "Blow jobs," "What the hell's going on?" "My bad," "Nuts," "That pisses me off," "I'm going to be so pissed," "Sons of bitches," "No you didn't, bitch," "What up, yo?" "Shut up, nigger" (what white girl Trudy says to black girl Raineesha while trying to sound hip), "Grab ass," "What the hell?" "Screwing everything up," "Jerk-heads," "Get your heads out of your asses," "Dang," "Pubes" (pubic hair), "We suck," "I'm in hell," "We screwed up pretty good," "Shut up," "Douche nozzles," "I'm drunk on unprecedentedness" (sic), "The dumbest group of people who aren't legally retarded" and "Fart-mobile."

  • In a dream sequence, Dangle flies his motorcycle over a car and then wipes out upon landing.
  • A miscellaneous young woman has a pierced navel.
  • Travis drops a shot of liquor into what looks like Pepto Bismol.
  • Thugs suddenly capture Jonesy and Garcia by putting hoods over their heads and throwing them into a van. We then see that they're bound on Ethan's boat, while he threatens another bound man with a weed whacker. He then uses that on his face (we see it from behind him and thus don't see the impact, but do see the man reacting, including asking who has a weed whacker on a boat). The thugs then throw the two cops overboard.
  • Thugs suddenly capture Jonesy and Garcia again, putting hoods over their heads and throwing them into a van. We then see them once again bound on Ethan's boat, while the thugs pour gasoline onto another bound man. But when one tries to light him on fire, the thug's arm catches on fire, followed by the other thug also catching on fire. The latter eventually jumps into the water, while the first puts out his burning arm in a champagne bucket of ice.
  • Miscellaneous people have tattoos.
  • Someone gives "the finger" to Jeff.
  • Travis tries to crack open a nut with the butt of his handgun, causing the latter to discharge accidentally back in his direction (but he's wearing a bulletproof vest).
  • JUMP SCENES
  • Travis wakes up from a dream while driving and crashes into a porta-potty (but Dangle says no one was inside - all seen from the backseat).
  • An alligator suddenly grabs an intoxicated man in a swimming pool.
  • MUSIC (SCARY/TENSE)
  • A tiny bit of comedy-based, suspenseful music plays in the film.
  • MUSIC (INAPPROPRIATE)
  • None that we heard, but various songs contained lyrics that we couldn't fully hear and/or understand, thus presenting the possibility of them potentially containing objectionable material.
  • PROFANITY
  • At least 25 "f" words (1 used sexually), 24 "s" words, 3 slang terms for male genitals ("c*ck," "d*ck" and "wiener"), 6 for breasts ("t*t" and "boob"), 9 hells, 6 asses (4 used with "hole"), 3 damns, 1 S.O.B., 11 uses of "Oh my God," 3 each of "G-damn" and "Jesus Christ" and 1 use of "Jesus."
  • SEX/NUDITY
  • All of the following is played for goofiness and laughs.
  • In a dream sequence, Clementine wears something resembling a one-piece swimsuit (while on the job) that shows a lot of cleavage, leg, and part of her bare belly.
  • In a dream sequence, the order is given to shave Miss Acapulco (seen in a small bikini that shows lots of cleavage and other skin) and to "shave her good" (but nothing happens).
  • We often see Dangle in small and very tight shorts.
  • Travis says that Reno is just like Mayberry except that everyone's on crystal meth and there's prostitution.
  • Clementine shows cleavage.
  • On the bus to Miami and at night, Dangle wakes up and asks Trudy who's next to him, "Why is your hand on my dick?" and she replies something about a motorcar race (a reference to a stick shift).
  • We see miscellaneous young and shapely women in bikinis that show cleavage and other skin.
  • A motel clerk wonders if the eight cops need just one bed and then repeatedly refers to the "suck fest" he believes they're having. When one of the women squats down to get something off the ground, that man positions himself so that his clothed crotch is near her head.
  • We see a brief montage of some young, shapely, and scantly clad women doing some sexy dancing for and around some men.
  • As Jonesy walks along a motel walkway, he spots Travis masturbating (we see hand movement), Dangle in just a small thong (pouch in the front, bare cheeks in the back) and Trudy then showing up in a towel (and turning her back to reveal her large panties and very sunburned back). Raineesha (wearing lingerie -- which we later see includes a thong bottom so we see her bare butt) then comes on to Jonesy, but he rebukes her, although he then acts friendly toward Clementine. He then suggestively says, "Speaking of bushes" (meaning pubic hair) and she says she doesn't have any down there. Raineesha then sees him with her, so he walks off, only to get more views of his various coworkers masturbating (male hand movement, Trudy moving up and down with her back to the camera while kneeling on a bed, Raineesha pulling out a cucumber or dildo and a condom), all of which causes him to avert his eyes and rush off.
  • Clementine shows up, intoxicated, and shows a tattoo of a man's face on the top of her breast. She says it's the man who's been making "sweet dirty love to me all night" and the term "making love" is used again. There's then talk of getting her some cranberry juice since it's yeast infection time.
  • We see the side of Dangle's bare butt as he's seated and sewing, and then see him in small and tight shorts (including a close-up rear view of him adjusting them).
  • We see an overweight, shirtless man.
  • We see various shapely young women in bikinis (showing cleavage, and varying amounts of bare butt cheeks in thong type bottoms).
  • Raineesha shows some cleavage in her swimsuit. We then see her large butt in the thong bottom (shot to elicit viewer reaction).
  • A woman with Ethan wears a bikini.
  • An effeminate gay man wears a midriff-revealing top and bends over to show his butt in his shorts. We hear that the cops have previously arrested him for lewd behavior in Reno, with the man suggestively asking if they said lewd or lube. There's also talk of him being covered in some sort of liquor and lube.
  • We see various deputies being scrubbed down by hazmat crews. Some are in their underwear and we can see the very top of Raineesha's bare butt (as she lies facing down toward the camera).
  • The cops arrive on a topless beach and the camera focuses on a young woman wearing just a bikini bottom who runs up and bends over into the car window to try to get the cops to help. We then see a few other topless women pass by, and the first hangs out with the cops for a while (thus offering many views of her bare breasts).
  • We see the top of Clementine's breast and the tattoo on it again. She's then asked about anything being "down there" (her crotch), and she replies that no, it's just like a Barbie (meaning barren of pubic hair).
  • Dangle and Travis enter a large rap party, and when they can't get anyone's attention to turn down the music, Dangle fires a warning shot in the air. That immediately results in many guns pointed at the two cops. Dangle then acts like it's a birthday party strip-o-gram for the male owner, and thus strips down to just his thong underwear, while Travis reluctantly strips down to his boxers. Both then flee for their lives and jump into a nearby body of water to escape.
  • We see Dangle and other shirtless men dancing about in a club that also features scantly clad women doing some suggestive dancing.
  • Trudy lies suggestively in bed (in pajamas) for Dangle who returns to his room intoxicated. He reminds her that he's gay, but she asks if he can give her a "pity f*ck." He then chugs the booze from his bottle, and then awkwardly puts his hands on her clothed breasts. We then see a sexual encounter where clothes are removed, nudity is seen (bare breasts, butt), and sex occurs (making us think it's Trudy and Dangle), but that other miscellaneous couple then sees the camera filming them through the window and gets upset. The camera then goes back to Dangle and Trudy's room where he's behind her as she's on all fours and he's trying to get his watch loose from her "pubes" (both are still clothed, but she's in her big underwear and he might be similarly undressed).
  • While putting a tattoo on a man's butt cheek, a tattoo man examines the tattoo on the top of Clementine's breast, stating, "That's a tight t*t tat."
  • As Jeff holds a machine gun on the cops and asks if they have any last words, Dangle struggles for his and then blurts out, "He really liked it" (presumably meaning gay sex).
  • There's talk of a gay man giving "tug jobs" to other men, and he comments on "fag day" (mispronouncing, purposefully or not, flag day). The cops then tell his rich dad that they've arrested him back in Reno for giving "blow jobs," with the dad then making the full body gesture for performing that.
  • Dangle mentions something about Trudy and a "wiener."
  • We see a tattoo of a woman on Garcia's bare butt cheek.
  • We see Trudy on top of Dangle on a bed, clothed, with her saying she thinks she's supposed to be where he is (meaning on the bottom).
  • SMOKING
  • Travis and Ethan (cigars) each smoke several times, while some miscellaneous people smoke.
  • TENSE FAMILY SCENES
  • None.
  • TOPICS TO TALK ABOUT
  • Police officers.
  • Raineesha repeatedly thinks and/or infers that Cherisha is a lesbian (which seems accurate as portrayed by the film), but the latter says she isn't.
  • An undercover agent snorts more cocaine, and we later see her dead from an overdose.
  • VIOLENCE
  • All of the following is played for goofiness and laughs.
  • In a dream sequence, Dangle flies his motorcycle over a car and then wipes out upon landing.
  • Travis wakes up from a dream while driving and crashes into a porta-potty (but Dangle says no one was inside - all seen from the backseat).
  • Travis accidentally falls and breaks through an RV's door.
  • The cops try to catch a chicken out on a road, with one accidentally shooting toward it, and another trying to hit it with his handgun that then accidentally discharges and nearly hits him in the leg. They then surround the chicken and repeatedly fire at it, but are later seen carrying it away, still alive (meaning their shots missed).
  • In a police demo, people shoot a cop in his bulletproof vest, but Trudy misses and gets him in the arm (no blood).
  • We hear what sounds like gunfire outside a motel, but it's the clerk killing bugs inside.
  • Travis returns to his motel, seemingly intoxicated. When he goes to help a young woman, she zaps him with a shocking device before fleeing into her room.
  • A lone SWAT team member holds a grenade while trying to motivate the Reno squad. He ends up dropping the pin and grenade, scrambles after both, and then there's an off-screen explosion (we see blood spray out onto the pavement).
  • The cops blow up a dead and beached whale, with all sorts of bloody and meaty pieces then raining down onto the cops.
  • One cop car crashes into another while pulling out of the parking lot.
  • Thugs suddenly capture Jonesy and Garcia again, putting hoods over their heads and throwing them into a van. We then see them once again bound on Ethan's boat, while the thugs pour gasoline onto another bound man. But when one tries to light him on fire, his arm catches on fire, followed by the other thug also catching on fire. The latter eventually jumps into the water, while the first puts out his burning arm in a champagne bucket of ice.
  • Dangle and Travis enter a large rap party, and when they can't get anyone's attention to turn down the music, Dangle fires a warning shot in the air. That immediately results in many guns pointed at the two cops.
  • Garcia stands in a vat of Jell-O or something similar to participate in related wrestling with a woman, but he instead punches her in the face.
  • Various cop cars crash into others leaving the parking lot.
  • Ethan and his thug hold machine guns on the cops (and fire some warning rounds), but an undercover agent then holds a handgun on the criminals. They fire at her and then escape on a boat, with the cops then shooting at the escaping boat (no one is hit).
  • We see that Jeff is in cahoots with Ethan, and the former holds a machine gun on the cops. He then leaves, falling out the window, but then returns and shoots Ethan in the chest, leaving a bloody smear on the wall behind him. The cops then pursue him, resulting in a golf cart chase (including through a wood fence) where gunfire is exchanged, but none one is hit. When they arrive at a drawbridge, Jeff holds the machine gun on the cops, but a police chopper then arrives. Jeff shoots at it with his machine gun, but it shoots a bystander's truck that explodes (Jeff nevertheless gives up). Later, as Trudy sits in the chopper, she accidentally fires a missile that hits a cop car, causing it to explode (reportedly with Jeff inside).
  • A person splashes at a cop from a pool, prompting the cop to fire at them (but no one is hit).
  • Travis tries to crack open a nut with the butt of his handgun, causing the latter to discharge accidentally back in his direction (but he's wearing a bulletproof vest).
