PLOT: Beth (LAUREN GERMAN), Whitney (BIJOU PHILLIPS) and Lorna (HEATHER MATARAZZO) are three college students traveling and partying their way through Eastern Europe. The wildest of the bunch, Whitney isn't happy to have the somewhat nerdy Lorna in tow, mainly because she sees her as a killjoy, but all three agree to a trip diversion suggested by the strikingly beautiful model Axelle (VERA JORDANOVA). Unbeknownst to them, she secretly works for Sasha (MILAN KNAZKO), the head organizer of an underground operation where closet sadists try to be the highest bidder for new victims to torture and kill. When word gets out about the three new women, people all around the world bid for the rights to be their tormentor, but it's Americans Stuart (ROGER BART) and Todd (RICHARD BURGI) who win at the auction. While Stuart still isn't sure he's up for the task, Todd is nothing less than gung-ho about the opportunity. When the women are finally captured by Sasha's goons, they must contend with the unexpected and grisly situation in which they suddenly find themselves. WILL KIDS WANT TO SEE IT? If they liked the original or are generally into bloody and grisly horror flicks, they just might. WHY THE MPAA RATED IT: R For sadistic scenes of torture and bloody violence, terror, nudity, sexual content, language and some drug content. CAST AS ROLE MODELS: Considering what occurs in the film, it's doubtful many parents would consider any of the major characters as good role models. CAST, CREW, & TECHNICAL INFO HOW OTHERS RATED THIS MOVIE Curious if this title is entertaining, any good, and/or has any artistic merit? Then read OUR TAKE of this film. OUR WORD TO PARENTS: The following is a brief summary of the content found in this R-rated horror film. Profanity consists of at least 81 "f" words, while other expletives and colorful phrases are also uttered. Sexually related dialogue is present, as is sexual behavior including a scantly clad woman performing oral sex on a man (not seen in full, but there's no doubt what's occurring), while a man prepares to have sex (as in rape) with another woman, but that act isn't completed. A woman also acts sensuously toward another woman, but we don't know if that's her general nature or just part of an overall, nonsexual ploy. Other scantly clad and even fully nude women (full frontal) are seen, both in sexual and nonsexual contexts. Nonsexual, male full frontal nudity is also present, while a man's penis is seen right before it's snipped off. Other violence includes scenes of grisly torture and/or murder, with extremely bloody and gory results. Those scenes and other moments of potential peril could be quite unsettling and/or suspenseful to viewers, while all sorts of bad attitudes are present. Some behavior might be enticing for some kids to imitate, while characters smoke, drink, or briefly use drugs (cocaine, while a woman wants to buy and use any sorts of drugs, but the purchase and use never occur). For those prone to visually induced motion sickness, there is some bouncy, handheld camerawork from time to time in the film. ALCOHOL OR DRUG USE A bottle of liquor is pulled out of some personal belongings. Trying to gain Beth's confidence, Axelle offers to buy her a drink. Beth and Whitney head off for drinks, offering for Lorna to join them, but she declines. We then see the two women with wine in a train car where others drink (a lot). Some drinks are then delivered to the two women, courtesy of Axelle who's drinking with someone else. Moments later, Whitney asks a stranger where they can score some drugs, listing off various ones such as ecstasy, ice, crank, peyote and more. She and Beth then follow a man back to his train car to buy some (where another man drinks beer), but that transaction never takes place. Pulling out a bottle of liquor, Axelle says they all need that, and she, Whitney, and Beth drink shots, but Lorna does not. We see a drink by a miscellaneous person. Miscellaneous people drink at a festival. Whitney brings over what she says is non-alcoholic cider for her, Beth, Axelle and Lorna, but when Lorna is out of earshot, Beth says it's the strongest she's ever had (meaning it is alcoholic and Whitney lied to Lorna to get her to drink -- knowing that she doesn't). Later, a man gives Beth a beer, but she's suspicious and thus tosses it aside, unknowingly getting it on Stuart. She then brings back different beer for him and herself. About a dance offer, Beth says she isn't drunk enough yet. Whitney appears to be drunk at a festival, and is about to go off and have drunken sex with a guy she just met, but Beth intervenes, much to the man's dismay. Todd snorts some cocaine. We see some wine next to a torturer as he eats part of a person. Miscellaneous people drink at a festival. BLOOD/GORE We see brief flashback images of violence from the first film, including people being tortured, some dead and bloody bodies, gunfire, a car slamming into various people, and a survivor killing a torturer in a public restroom stall and toilet (with bloody results). A man suddenly stabs down into a hospital patient, ripping the knife along some part of the body, drawing blood. He then reaches in, apparently to pull out some bloody organ, when the victim wakes up from his nightmare. A miscellaneous woman comes downstairs to find her husband or boyfriend dead at the kitchen table. He's seated upright, but is missing his head, and a cat is there licking the bloody stump (the cat has blood on it as well from that). Beth's face is slightly bloody from some kids attacking her. After Sasha shoots a criminal child, we see the crumpled body from which we hear and see a small trickle of blood (or urine) running along the ground. A miscellaneous man has some cuts on his face (seen in the truck he's driving). Whitney has a slightly bloody slice on her face. A woman suddenly bites her captor's face, ripping off part of his nose (with very bloody results). We see a room filled with severed human heads mounted on small posts. A torturer fires up an electric rotary saw to scare his victim, but the cord is too short and becomes unplugged. When he fixes that, he accidentally drives the moving saw blades into the woman's head, badly injuring her (with lots of resultant blood and gore). When a torturer can't finish the act and tries to leave, guards unleash two German Shepherds on him in an elevator. When the doors open again, the elevator is covered in blood, as are the dogs as well as the dead man. When he's later wheeled away on a cart, we see all sorts of blood, intestines, and other damage to his body. We see one cannibalistic torturer whose victim is still alive, but is missing the lower half of one leg, while the other has been skinned (revealing the muscles, etc.). The torturer then cuts into the man (causing him to scream in pain), removes a piece, goes over and sits down at a table, and then eats the piece. We see blood all over a torturer after he's just killed someone (off-camera). When her torturer won't give her information after the tables have been turned, a woman takes a long needle of sorts and slowly pushes it into his ear canal, causing him pain (with bloody results). An escaped victim cuts off her former torturer's penis and then throws the severed appendage down onto the floor where a guard dog eats it (we also see a great deal of blood at that man's crotch area). As a woman chases a juvenile thief, she trips over a trip line and is then confronted by a band of criminal kids. However, the woman she earlier setup then shows herself, just before decapitating the woman (we see blood squirt up from the neck stump, which we see again later with the body on the ground). Nearby criminal kids then end up playing soccer with the severed head. DISRESPECTFUL/BAD ATTITUDE Those responsible for running (Sasha), assisting in luring in victims (including Axelle), and participating in the killings (including Stuart and Todd) obviously have extreme cases of bad attitudes. Whitney has somewhat of a bad attitude toward the somewhat nerdy Lorna. A man grabs Whitney's arm and won't let go. A man steals Lorna's electronic gear. A clerk at the hostel mentions a festival that he says will be sexy, but Whitney replies that it "sounds gay." After getting a call about the killing potential, Stuart says he'll lie to his wife (about going on business) so that he can participate. Some juvenile delinquents repeatedly steal from and/or attack others. A boy spits in Lorna's face before he and others race off, with one calling Lorna and the other women "bitches." Whitney brings over what she says is non-alcoholic cider for her, Beth, Axelle and Lorna, but when Lorna is out of earshot, Beth says it's the strongest she's ever had (meaning it is alcoholic and Whitney lied to Lorna to get her to drink -- knowing that she doesn't). Later, a man gives Beth a beer, but she's suspicious that it's spiked (we never know). Whitney playfully refers to an Eastern European man as "Borat." Trying to convince Stuart to go ahead with the killer's club, Todd says that it will change him for the "better" in that people will sense the change in Stuart, including being afraid of him. Sasha shoots a young juvenile delinquent dead. A torturer finds glee in terrorizing his victim. FRIGHTENING SCENES Scenes listed under "Violence," "Blood/Gore" and "Jump Scenes" may be unsettling, suspenseful, or scary to younger viewers and/or those with low tolerance levels for such material. A creepy looking guy enters Lorna's train cabin as she sits there reading with headphones on (unaware that he's there). Lorna heads off at night with a stranger on a small boat (despite Beth telling her not to do that, especially since Lorna has been drinking). Beth opens her eyes in a pool and realizes the place is deserted, inside and out. After some wandering about, some men surround her and she makes a quick escape up and over a wall before fleeing in some woods (in a robe). There, a rope strung across the way trips her, and soon a horde of kids descend upon, and repeatedly hit her with sticks and stuff (slightly bloodying her). A gunshot warning from Sasha makes them stop, and after Axelle gets Beth into the car, Sasha goes along from kid to kid, holding his handgun on their faces. He then has them select one, holds his now silencer-equipped gun on that kid, and shoots him point blank in the head. We don't see the impact, but do see the crumpled body from which we hear and see a small trickle of blood (or urine) running along the ground. We see miscellaneous bound and gagged victims. A woman suddenly bites her captor's face, ripping off part of his nose (with very bloody results). She then tries to escape, but surveillance guards close various gates to prevent her from getting away, while some guards with barking dogs also stop her. Beth sees the same thugs that were after her earlier now entering the house in which she's located. She tries to flee, and ends up in a secret room filled with severed human heads mounted on small posts. The thugs then grab her, with one putting a cloth over her mouth and nose that renders her unconscious. We see a woman who's been bound and gagged, with a hood over her head. We see a woman who's been bound and gagged (with a ball in her mouth) while seated in some lingerie. An escaped victim hits a guard as he enters a room, but then retreats when others arrive. We see miscellaneous graffiti inside a train car. A boy spits in Lorna's face before he and others race off, with one calling Lorna and the other women "bitches." We see a miscellaneous man with a nose ring. We see Todd getting the obligatory killer's club tattoo, with Stuart saying he doesn't want one, but Todd says he has to get it (and thus does). A woman is forced to get a tattoo. A kid steals Axelle's purse. JUMP SCENES Some young kids suddenly jump in front of the three young women. A person suddenly puts a hood over a woman's head and two men struggle with her. Beth is suddenly punched in the face. MUSIC (SCARY/TENSE) An extreme amount of ominous and suspenseful music plays in the film. MUSIC (INAPPROPRIATE) None. PROFANITY At least 81 "f" words (2 used with "mother," 2 used sexually, as is the term "laid"), 3 "s" words, 4 slang terms using female genitals ("c*nt"), 1 using male ones ("c*ck"), 2 asses (1 used with "hole"), 11 uses of "Oh my God," 6 of "Jesus" and 1 use each of "God," "Jesus Christ," "My God" and "Swear to God." SEX/NUDITY We see male full frontal nudity from an art model posing nude in front of both men and women. Beth and Whitney then joke about whether Lorna had ever seen a "c*ck" before now. Axelle then shows up and disrobes to full nudity (we only see her bare breasts, but the female art instructor -- who shows cleavage -- tells the "boys" to get their hands on their pencils, a double entendre). Lorna shows cleavage in various scenes, as does Axelle. When Whitney and Beth mention they need to get back to Lorna (after feeling uneasy about how some men are acting), one man says that would make three women and three men, adding, "Otherwise, we'd have to take turns" (meaning sexually). We briefly see some miscellaneous women in bikinis and men in just swim trunks. About her (nonsexual) experiences, Whitney sarcastically asks Lorna if she's having a "journal-gasm," with Lorna sarcastically replying back that she is, "multiple ones." On the background wall of a tattoo parlor are various photos, one of which looks like a close-up of a bare breast (possibly pierced). When Stuart tells Todd he doesn't know how he'd explain a tattoo to his wife, Todd says that Stuart didn't have any problem explaining the gonorrhea he brought home from Thailand. About the killer's club, Todd then says that it isn't like a "whore house" as you can't just back out. At a festival, Whitney does some sexy-style dancing (the footage appears slightly sped up). About seeing Whitney with some guy she just met at a festival, Beth tells Stuart that she gets to hear them have sex later. Stuart then jokingly asks if they can switch rooms since he doubts anyone's had sex in his hotel in a long time. Whitney appears to be drunk at a festival, and is about to go off and have drunken sex with a guy she just met, but Beth intervenes, much to the man's dismay. Away from him, Whitney says, "I wanted to f*ck him." Making a comparison to something else, Todd asks Stuart if he remembers the first guy who "got laid" back in school. Stuart says he doesn't remember the first, but does the last (presumably referring to himself). We see some scantly clad pole dancers (thong bottoms, bikini tops) in some sort of club where fully nude women (full frontal nudity) swim in a pool that forms a large window on one wall of that club. We see Whitney, Beth and Axelle in bikini tops in a pool. One of the women laments that Lorna was probably the only one "to get some action" the night before, with a man saying he tried with Whitney (referring to a scene listed above). We see a woman strung up by her feet, upside down and nude. We see her bare breasts, as well as her bare butt. A woman then comes in and disrobes, showing full frontal nudity as she stands and then lies down beneath her. She then takes a large scythe and runs the tip along the first woman's skin, catching it in places, but initially drawing no blood. She then starts cutting into her (as the woman screams), with blood then dripping and eventually flowing down onto the second woman who enthusiastically rubs it all over her nude skin. The second woman finally slices the first woman's throat, sending even more blood down onto her (and killing the first woman). We see Axelle in a small bikini as she comes over and acts somewhat sensuously toward Beth in a pool (rubbing her shoulders and then dropping down out of the camera shot behind and below her, but nothing else sensual/sexual happens). In the background of the shot, we see Whitney making out with some man. Axelle wears a somewhat short skirt, as did Whitney earlier. We see a woman performing oral sex on Todd (the view is from behind her, so we only see the motion), but he tosses her aside (we see her in her thong bottom, and a possible view of her bare breasts) when he gets a page that his victim is ready. Realizing she's in trouble, the victim somewhat comes on to her torturer, eventually causing him to tell her to get on the floor. Before he can, however, she head-butts him, hits him with a rod several times, and then chains him to a chair.
