  • 5 Deleted Scenes.
  • From Tim Burton, acclaimed director of BIG FISH, EDWARD SCISSORHANDS, and BATMAN, and the producer of THE NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS, comes the hilarious, true-life story of the wackiest filmmaker in Hollywood history, Ed Wood! Johnny Depp (PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: THE CURSE OF THE BLACK PEARL, CHOCOLAT, EDWARD SCISSORHANDS) stars as the high-spirited movieman who refuses to let unfinished scenes, terrible reviews, and hostile studio executives derail his big-screen dreams.

With an oddball collection of showbiz misfits, Ed takes the art of bad moviemaking to an all-time low! The all-star cast features Bill Murray (LOST IN TRANSLATION, THE ROYAL TENENBAUMS), Sarah Jessica Parker (TV's SEX AND THE CITY), Patricia Arquette (STIGMATA, LITTLE NICKY), and an Academy Award(R)-winning performance by Martin Landau (Best Supporting Actor, 1994) as Bela Lugosi. Hailed by critics everywhere, this laugh-packed comedy hit is sure to entertain everyone! (Studio Copy)

Released some sixteen years after its namesake's death, this is a terrific little film about a really bad filmmaker. While it didn't turn out to be a big hit like many of director Tim Burton's other efforts, this picture - that won 2 Oscars (for Landau and Rick Baker & Co.'s makeup for him) - is a delight from start to finish.

With a terrific cast, solid to brilliant performances (notably Landau but also the always versatile Depp who, disappears into his role once again), the movie is a delight for film buffs (particularly of old), but it also works well as a character study of various Hollywood types.

    FRIDAY THE 13TH
Terror and suspense abound in this 24-hour nightmare of blood. Camp Crystal Lake has been shuttered for over 20 years due to several vicious and unsolved murders. The camp's new owner and seven young counselors are readying the property for re-opening despite warnings of a "death curse" by local residents. The curse proves true on Friday the 13th as one by one each of the counselors is stalked by a violent killer. This film is widely acclaimed for its horrifying and creative murder sequences.

FRIDAY THE 13TH - PART II
Just when you thought it was safe to go back to camp...here's even more heart pounding terror. Five years after the horrible bloodbath at Camp Crystal lake, all that remains is the legend of Jason Voorhees and his demented mother, who had murdered seven camp counselors. At a nearby summer camp, the new counselors are unconcerned about the warnings to stay away from the infamous site. Carefree, the young people roam the area, not sensing the ominous lurking presence. One by one, they are attacked and brutally slaughtered. Suspense and screams abound in this compelling chiller.

FRIDAY THE 13TH - PART III
An idyllic summer turns into a nightmare of unspeakable terror for yet another group of naive counselors. Ignoring Camp Crystal Lake's bloody legacy, one by one they fall victim to the maniacal Jason who stalks them at every turn... "Friday the 13th, Part 3" will have you frozen with fear, as Jason finds his way into your living room!

FRIDAY THE 13TH - PART IV: THE FINAL CHAPTER
The body count continues in this vivid thriller, the fourth - but not final - story in the widely successful Friday the 13th series. Jason, Crystal Lake's least popular citizen, returns to wreak further havoc in Friday the 13th - The Final Chapter. After his revival in a hospital morgue, the hockey-masked murderer fixes his vengeful attention on the Jarvis family and a group of hitherto carefree teenagers. Young Tommy Jarvis is an aficionado of horror films with a special talent for masks and make-up. Has the diabolical Jason finally met his match?

    FRIDAY THE 13TH - PART V: A NEW BEGINNING
Jason is back, hockey mask and all. And he's up to his old maniacal tricks in Friday The 13th, Part V: A New Beginning. This time he seems to have set his sights on the young patients at a secluded halfway house. And more than a few of his teen targets end up in half, in quarters...you name it, Jason does it. This is the fifth scary installment in the Friday The 13th saga. If you liked the first four, and think you're up to getting back on Jason's bloody trail, you'll love Friday The 13th, Part V: A New Beginning.

FRIDAY THE 13TH - PART VI: JASON LIVES
As a child, Tommy Jarvis did what many others died trying to do, he killed Jason Vorhees, the mass murderer who terrorized the residents of Crystal lake. But now, years later, Tommy is tormented by the fear that maybe Jason isn't really dead. So, Tommy and a friend go to the cemetery to dig up Jason's grave. Unfortunately for Tommy, (and very unfortunately for his friend), instead of finding a rotting corpse, they discover a well rested Jason who comes back from the dead for another bloody rampage in Friday The 13th - Part VI: Jason Lives.

FRIDAY THE 13TH - PART VII: THE NEW BLOOD
Ever since homicidal maniac Jason Vorhees got trapped in chains at the bottom of Crystal lake, the nearby summer camp has operated without a hitch...without a murder. But one of this season's happy campers has brought along a deadly secret. Tina Shepard can see the future and levitate objects. Her doctor knows just how dangerous telekinesis can be, but he's out to exploit her, not help her. And now it's too late. Tina has accidentally unchained Jason from his watery grave - and the bloodbath is underway. Tina's special powers are her only hope for survival. But what chance does a teenage girl have against an ax-wielding maniac?

FRIDAY THE 13TH - PART VIII: JASON TAKES MANHATTAN
The Big Apple's in big trouble, as indestructible psycho-fiend Jason Vorhees hits the road to New York City - and paints the town "red." After a shocking return from beyond the grave, the diabolical Jason ships out abroad a teen-filled "love boat" bound for New York, which he soon transforms into the ultimate voyage of the damned. Then one of his terrified victims escapes into the nightmarish maze of Manhattan's subways and sewers, only to confront Jason one final time.

  • Hailed as a landmark film that dazzles with deep emotion and exceptional acting, PHILADELPHIA stars Tom Hanks and Denzel Washington as two competing lawyers who join forces to sue a prestigious law firm for AIDS discrimination. As their unlikely friendship develops, their courage overcomes the prejudice and corruption of their powerful adversaries.

Directed by Jonathan Demme (The Truth About Charlie, The Silence of the Lambs), this all-star cast includes five Oscar®-winning actors: Tom Hanks (Forrest Gump, Philadelphia), Denzel Washington (Training Day,Glory), Joanne Woodward (Three Faces of Eve), Jason Robards (Julia, All the President's Men) and Mary Steenburgen (Melvin and Howard), in addition to Antonio Banderas (Once Upon a Time in Mexico, Spy Kids series). (Studio Copy)

The first big budget/high profile Hollywood film to tackle the issue of AIDS, this 1993 release also marked the big dramatic turn in Hanks' acting career. While he had appeared in some dramas (in addition to the more predominant comedies), the actor finally made his mark with his performance here that won him an Oscar (and led to more in later films).

While the film is undeniable formulaic, it nevertheless works - often rather well -- mostly thanks to strong performances by Hanks, Washington and others as well as solid direction by Demme. Nominated for 5 Academy Awards, the film took home two (Hanks' and one for Bruce Springsteen's terrific title track).

While Tribbles and Amok Time are some of the series' more notable and popular episodes, my personal favorite, The Doomsday Machine appears in this collection along with many other classic episodes that successfully mixed sci-fi, melodrama and action into a satisfying and highly entertaining concoction. And lording over Alex (Judd Hirsch), Bobby (Jeff Conaway), Elaine (Marilu Henner), Tony (Tony Danza) John (Randall Carver) and Latka (Andy Kaufman) is the one-and-only Louie De Palma (Danny DeVito) -- the snide and surly taxi dispatcher who, from the safety of his dispatcher's cage, barks orders, hurls insults and mercilessly bullies the diverse and eccentric characters who drive for him. Enjoy all 22 first-season episodes of the Emmy Award-winning comedy series Taxi in this dazzling three-disc collection. (Studio Copy)

Arguably one of the top ten sitcoms of all time, the series - that debuted in 1978 and ran for several years and on two networks - may look and feel a bit dated nowadays. Yet, it's just as funny and smart as it was when it debuted decades ago and features some classic comedy bits as well as memorable characters. If you enjoy or love sitcoms the way they no longer make them, you should definitely add this first season set to your DVD collection.

  • The critics and public agree. Brian De Palma's The Untouchables is a must-see masterpiece - glorious, fierce, larger-than-life depiction of the mob warlord who ruled Prohibition-era Chicago... and the law enforcer who vowed to bring him down.

This classic confrontation between good and evil and stars Kevin Costner as federal agent Eliot Ness, Robert De Niro as gangland kingpin Al Capone and Sean Connery as Malone, the cop who teaches Ness how to beat the mob: shoot fast and shoot first. (Studio Copy)

Based on the late 1950s/early 1960s TV drama of the same name (that was based on the autobiography of Eliot Ness), this 1987 film had director Brian De Palma finally stepping away from Hitchcock to helm a rousing piece of dramatic entertainment.

While the theft/borrowing from other films continues here (particularly the baby carriage on the steps scene -- from Eisenstein's "Potemkin" being the most blatant), the picture has a style and aura that's nothing short of engaging and the overall effort is quite entertaining.

With a script by David Mamet (in something less than his usually ultra verbose mode), and solid performances from all involved (including Connery in his award-winning role and Andy Garcia making his first big mark on audiences), the film might not appease purists/historians. Yet, there's no denying it will play well to many viewers looking for some grand, escapist entertainment.
