Set in a quaint French village during the late 18th Century, the movie follows the fantastic adventures of Belle, a bright and beautiful young woman who finds escape from ordinary life, and the advances of a boorish suitor, Gaston, by reading books.

Meanwhile, off in a castle in the distance, a cruel young prince is cast under the spell of an enchantress who turns him into a tormented beast and transforms his servants into animated household objects. In order to remove the curse, The Beast must discover a true love who will return his affection before the last petal falls from an enchanted rose. With the help of the castle's enchanted staff, Belle sees beneath the Beast's exterior and discovers the heart and soul of a human prince. (Studio Copy)

    SATURDAY NIGHT FEVER
[Saturday Night Fever] Length: 118 minutes
    Screen Formats: 1.85:1, 16x9
    Languages: English, French
    Subtitles: English, French
    Sound: Dolby Digital 5.1
    Sides: 1
    Extras:
  • Scene selection/Jump to any scene.
  • Running audio commentary by director John Badham.
  • Highlights from VH1's Behind the Music - 30+ minutes from the show featuring interviews, clips and stills about the film.
  • 3 Deleted Scenes.
  • John Travolta gives a sensual and intelligent performance as a local disco kingpin at the peak of his popularity. Once a week, after six full days of work in a Brooklyn paint store, Tony (Travolta) douses himself with Brut cologne, dons a floral bodyshirt, gabardine pants and platform shoes - and ritualistically prepares himself for "Saturday Night Fever."

Through the influence of Stephanie (Karen Lynn Gorney) - his more sophisticated dance partner - and Tony's brother - a disillusioned priest - Tony begins to question the way his views life and the narrowness of his perspective. The disco dance sequences and the Bee Gee's music make the film an accurate and absorbing barometer for the seventies' generation. (Studio Copy)

Travolta, hot off his success of TV's "Welcome Back Kotter" took his first starring role in this 1977 film and not only ran with it, but made it all his own (and received an Oscar nomination for his work). Although the dance numbers look rather tame in today's world of hyper-edited music videos, and the film faced some of the anti-disco backlash that developed not long after it became a global hit, this is an entertaining and solidly told and performed picture.

The film is rated R for "strong language, sexuality/nudity and some drug content."

    URBAN COWBOY
    [Urban Cowboy] Length: 134 minutes
    Screen Formats: 2.35:1, 16x9
    Languages: English, French
    Subtitles: English, Spanish, Brazilian
    Sound: Dolby Digital 5.1
    Sides: 1
    Extras:
  • Scene selection/Jump to any scene.
  • 2 Dancing Outtakes (Travola alone and Travolta with Debra Winger).
  • Rehearsal Footage (Travolta and Winger alone and together on the mechanical bull).
  • John Travolta is Urban Cowboy, breakin' hearts and bustin' mechanical bulls in one of his most electrifying film roles. By day, Bud Davis (John Travolta) toils at a Texas oil refinery; at night, he trades his hard hat for a Stetson and heads to Gilley's, Houston's most popular nightclub. There, he meets a pretty two-stepper named Sissy (Debra Winger) who thinks Bud is a "real cowboy."

But Bud's got to prove it when a dangerous ex-con (Scott Glen) schemes to rob Gilley's and steal Sissy's heart. Travolta and Winger make an unforgettable screen couple in this compelling, Texas-sized look at a country-western way of life. Featuring a hit soundtrack and musical appearances by Mickey Gilley, Johnny Lee, Bonnie Raitt and The Charlie Daniels Band. (Studio Copy)

After doing the '70 era disco thing in "Saturday Night Fever" and heading back to the '50s in "Grease," Travolta ended his musical trifecta with this 1980 film, the weakest of the three. Similar in theme and construction as "Fever" with a country and western angle, the film has its moments (including a good performance from Winger), toe-tapping music and put Gilley's honky-tonk and mechanical bull riding on the national map.

The film is rated PG (no reasons were stated by the MPAA).
