MICHAEL JORDAN TO THE MAX

Subtitles: English
Sound: Dolby Digital 5.1

  • Michael Jordan Bullet-Time Slam Dunk - a revolving, fly-by view of Jordan dunking the basketball. 3 trailers and 1 TV spot for the film.
  • Behind the Scenes - 20+ minute look at the making of the film (mainly focusing on the bullet-time revolving, fly-by view of Jordan dunking the basketball) with interviews with the filmmakers.
  • Originally filmed for release in the gargantuan-screen, IMAX format, this short film takes a look at pro basketball legend Michael Jordan both on and off the court, including his team's bid for their sixth NBA championship during his final season of play. Featuring plenty of footage from those games as well as interviews with those who knew/know the player, the film might not be as much of an in-depth biography as some might expect/want, but fans of Jordan and pro basketball will probably eat up this sumptuous looking presentation.

    PORKY'S
    PORKY'S 2: THE NEXT DAY
    [Michael Length: 98 & 95 minutes
    Screen Formats: 1.85:1, 16x9
    Languages: English, French
    Subtitles: English
    Sound: Dolby Digital 2.0
    Sides: 2
    Extras:
  • Scene selection/Jump to any scene.
  • Theatrical trailers for "Porky's"and "Revenge of the Nerds" on side 1, and "Porky's 2: The Next Day" and "Revenge of the Nerds II: Nerds in Paradise" on side 2.
  • Teenage guys talking about sex, wanting sex, having sex, and essentially just completely obsessed with sex. That's the gist of most teen sex comedies and that's certainly what fueled the original 1981 release of "Porky's." Never mind that the antics and overall film are sophomoric and that most of the performers are obviously too old to be playing teenagers. This film struck a chord with teenage boys when it first came out and became its own sort of coming of age ritual. While it offers a few crude laughs - even more so for each generation of its target audience - its single-mindedness and disrespect for women makes it grow tiresome after a while. The sequel, released two years later, returned most of the major cast members (who now looked even older than before) for more of the same old hijinks, but was less successful than its predecessor in both laughs and general raunchiness.

Recommended only for those who enjoy campy stupidity and the sight of various "B" movie and former A-list performers including Casper Van Dien, Wil Wheaton, Jenny McCarthy and Robert "Nightmare on Elm Street" Englund getting eaten by the oversized garter snake.

    REVENGE OF THE NERDS
REVENGE OF THE NERDS II: NERDS IN PARADISE
    [Python Length: 89 minutes each
    Screen Formats: 1.85:1, 16x9
    Languages: English, French
    Subtitles: English
    Sound: Dolby Digital 2.0
    Sides: 2
    Extras:
  • Scene selection/Jump to any scene.
  • Theatrical trailers for "Revenge of the Nerds" and "Porky's" on side 1, and "Revenge of the Nerds II: Nerds in Paradise" and "Porky's 2: The Next Day" on side 2.
  • The title pretty much sums up this 1984 comedy about a bunch of freshman nerds who form their own college fraternity after being turned down and/or mocked by most everyone else. With a pre-"ER" Anthony Edwards, pre-"Babe" James "Jamie" Cromwell and a somewhat trim John Goodman, the original film offers up the stereotypical nerd characters, their jock/jerk tormentors and the requisite pretty young women in a moderately entertaining package that should appeal to anyone who had/has a little - or a lot - of nerd in them. The sequel - which was released three years later -sends most of the original nerds to sunny Florida where they meet a young Courtney Thorne-Smith and the standard hijinks but a less enjoyable plot, resulting in a forgettable comedy.
